What's more is that many of these events, when in season, are streamed live from their location, thereby allowing visitors of Pathé to experience it just as the actual audience does.
Missed a performance? Have no fear! Understanding that busy lives mean audiences can't always be present for the live-stream, Pathé also replays the most popular performances from previous broadcasts and seasons.
With groups like the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company from London, the Metropolitan Opera from New York and the Bolshoi Ballet from Moscow, Pathé has broken down the barrier of distance for live performances.
About NT Live: Medea
The National Theatre in London will be presenting Ben Power’s adaptation of Euripides’ tragedy Medea in September. A classic from ancient Greece, the story of Medea tells the tale of Jason and his abandoned wife, Medea, who dramatically kills their two children in a desperate act of revenge after he moves and remarries.
Regarded as one of the ultimate tales of jealousy, betrayal and vengeance, Power’s version has been updated for contemporary audiences.
Featuring Helen McCrory as Medea, a choreographed chorus and music by Will Gregory and Alison Goldfrapp, this modern take focuses on the emotional struggle that the protagonist must negotiate while seeking retribution in the face of injustice.
